In the municipality of Ovar, between Esmoriz and Cortegaça, we find Parque do Buçaquinho, a leisure park that occupies an area of 24 hectares and offers an incredible landscape.
Built in the place where the Esmoriz/Cortegaça Wastewater Treatment Plant was previously located, this park is composed of several green spaces, gardens, playgrounds and observation posts, being therefore very rich in fauna and flora. There is also a large tower and different sculptures.
The park is made up of tracks that, by extension, allow you to ride a bicycle. It is also worth mentioning the variety of aromatic herbs planted here. This park also assumes the function of a leisure park, with several tables and places to rest.
The entrance to the park, despite being free, is conditioned, since it is a fenced space. Consequently, it is also subject to specific opening hours.
We visited this park in the COVID season (July/2020) and there was no problem at all, it was simply necessary to wear a mask to access the park and the access was conditioned to the number of people already inside.
Having a lot of flora, it became mainly interesting to discover the tower which, despite being very high, ends up being covered by the surrounding trees, looking even more mysterious. It is also possible to climb the tower.
To enjoy a different afternoon, the Parque Ambiental do Buçaquinho is undoubtedly a destination to consider.
