São Cristóvão Hill, in Felgueiras, Resende, is a truly magical place. At 1142m of altitude, we discovered this site completely by accident, while returning from the N222 road, we tried to take the highway back home.
On this route, in addition to suddenly going up a lot in altitude, we found the magic scenery that this mountain offers.
First of all, the beautiful scenery it offers stands out, surrounded by wind farms and simple roads through the hills. At the same time, this destination also has two major attractions that we, with the ignorance of those who find a place by accident, had no chance to explore.
São Cristóvão Hill is at 1142 meters of altitude.
One of them is the Viewpoint of São Cristóvão, where is the São Cristóvão Chapel. This consists of a chapel built entirely in granite, in a form described as an oriental "mastaba". From this viewpoint, through the hills, it is still possible to see the Douro River.
Additionally, it is in this space that the São Cristóvão Hill Megalithic Ensemble, located next to the Chapel, and made up of tapirs and tumulus, assuming the shape of a cromlech.
So, and for those visiting the northernmost part of the country, don't miss the opportunity to walk along the beautiful roads that make up Monte de São Cristóvão.
